Dimension 20 Chokehold

Dimension 20 Chokehold

I can confidently say that this Dropout series has enthralled me on a higher level than I ever expected. The only show I’ve watched so far is Fantasy High, and I’m currently on the Last Stand episode of the Junior Year season.

The cast is primarily composed of seven comedians: six characters and one game master. In this specific series, each of them have created a high school character with DND-specific abilities and backstories. The students attend a magical high school, where they learn skills surrounding how to be a successful adventuring party (and essentially learn how to save the world). With a high stakes environment, a brilliant DM and creative backstage crew, and a cast composed entirely of people who are paid to be entertaining, this show is insane.

I can safely say that I’ve laughed more from this series than I have from any other media form (except some books) in a long time. Even when I want to be reading or listening to an audiobook, I find myself back on the Dropout app, pulling up whichever episode I’m on. While this may be somewhat detrimental to my progress in other activities, it’s nearly worth it for the pure joy that comes from watching these videos.

So, if I seem to posting reviews more slowly, this is partly why. But, if you’re here and reading this post, please check it out yourself. The first two seasons of Fantasy High are on YouTube for free, and the rest are on Dropout’s app. If this does inspire you to give it a try, let me know!
