Welcome, welcome. There’s been a lot to do recently, because we’re in the process of moving! We’re not traveling far–just 35 minutes from where we are now, but that doesn’t mean there’s any less packing to do. It definitely does reduce stress though, knowing that we can keep coming back and picking up items we forgot or didn’t account enough space for. We’re set to move Wednesday, and I could not be more excited. I’m moving in with my boyfriend and my sister to the town I drive to whenever I have the chance. I feel more creative when I’m there and surrounded by people that I enjoy, in an infinitely more supportive and inclusive atmosphere as a whole. Anyway, that’s my short life update.
I wanted to take a few minutes just to revel in some of the prettiest book covers I’ve come across recently. Most of these I’ve read, but there are some that I haven’t yet that are on my list. This list is obviously not extensive, but involves most of what has caught my eye recently. So, here we go!

A Study in Drowning by Ava Reid is one of the most aesthetically pleasing covers surrounding dark academia. It has so many clues within it and the image spread is even with gorgeous tones. Also, the sprayed edges of this book show shelves of a library, adding to the appeal.

A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon was one of the books that got me back into reading fiction. The colors are vibrant and the imagery is intoxicating, painting the creature as elegant and artistic, which suits their purpose in the story as well.

The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty is a creative and abstract story with a cover to match. My only regret is that I listened to this audiobook, so I didn’t get to stare at the cover everyday.

The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen is a story I haven’t been able to read yet, but I bought it as soon as I saw the cover. That was all I needed to convince me to pick this one up. The picture has a sheen to it that’s almost iridescent, and the whole series has covers that match this theme. Wonderful.

Caraway of the Sea by Madeline Burget is another that I haven’t read, but added as soon as I saw the cover. It has a simple elegance, central image, and beautiful text all around a pleasing color contrast. Love it already.

Similarly, The Hollows by Apolline Lucy is another cover that took my breath away. I found this author on Threads, and I cannot wait to read this one. The cover is eerie, has a unique style, and introduces an enticing cast and atmosphere.

She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan is on my list to be read very soon. This one and the next in the series have similarly-themed covers with expert spacing and color choices. I cannot wait to read!
All in all, sometimes it’s okay to read a book based on its cover. The books on this list that I haven’t read yet are on my TBR and I am looking forward to reading each of them. Let me know if you have any other beautiful covers you want to share.
